Overview

For many of these families, our food delivery is what stands between stability and crisis. Single mothers caring for young children. Elderly folks living alone with no family support. Families where the breadwinner is too ill to work. These deliveries provide consistent, reliable food security that allows them to focus on other needs like medical care, education, and finding employment.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be given a route with addresses of registered families. Using a vehicle (yours or carpooling with other volunteers), you’ll deliver pre-packed food provisions directly to their homes. Each delivery is a chance to check in on families, see how they’re doing, and remind them they’re not forgotten. It’s hands-on work that puts you face-to-face with the people we serve.

Your Questions Answered

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can pregnant women volunteer?

We don't recommend it due to the physical nature of some activities and outdoor conditions.

  • Can I volunteer as a student?

Yes, students are always welcome! However, we understand transport is often a challenge, so we've created an alternative pathway.

If you'd like to interview our staff or beneficiaries for your academic work, we ask that you contribute to KSK in one of these ways: purchase handmade cookies from our Empowerment programme (which directly funds single mothers' income), or make a monetary donation. This contribution sustains our work whilst enabling us to support your research. In exchange, you'll gain valuable insights from real stories, and your work helps amplify our mission.

To get started, fill out our interview request form and let us know what you're working on.

  • What happens after you applied for volunteering?

Our operations team will contact you within one business day to arrange availability. If the volunteer slot is unavailable, we’ll suggest alternative activities.

  • What happens after slot confirmation?

We'll set up a WhatsApp group so your team stays connected with us. Invite whoever needs to be in the loop. Everyone will fill out a quick onboarding form and share their car plate number if they'll be driving on the volunteering day.

  • How many households do we typically deliver to in one session?

Each session covers approximately 15 to 25 households, depending on the delivery zone.

  • Do I need to know the area well?

No. A navigator or GPS-guided route is provided for every delivery vehicle.
