Overview
KSK serves over 100,000 meals per year through street and static distributions. Each one of those meals is packed by volunteers. Without packers, distributors would have nothing to hand out. You’re literally the production line that makes everything else possible.
Packing also ensures quality control. As you pack, you check that meals are complete, portions are fair, and food is fresh. You’re the last line of quality assurance before meals reach hungry people.
What You’ll Do
You’ll work in a team at the hub, usually in assembly-line formation. Each person takes on a specific task: filling containers with rice, adding vegetables, including protein, wrapping packages, labeling meal sets, loading them into boxes for transport. You’ll pack anywhere from 50 to 200+ meals depending on the day’s distribution needs.
It’s repetitive work, but there’s a rhythm to it. Music usually plays. People chat and joke. The atmosphere is often surprisingly fun despite the serious purpose.
